Claude in Chrome

Claude in Chrome turns the browser from something Claude advises about into something Claude operates. The extension gives Claude sight of the rendered page and control of the cursor and keyboard, so it can navigate sites, fill forms, run research across tabs, and complete multi-step transactions while you watch. Anthropic ran it as a research preview from August 2025 before general availability on August 26, 2026, and the long preview mattered: the product ships with the guardrails the browser-agent category demands — site-level permissions, action confirmations for sensitive steps, and adversarial-prompt-injection defenses, since a browser agent reads untrusted web content by definition. It requires a paid Claude subscription, which makes it effectively bundled software for Claude subscribers rather than a standalone purchase.
